- John Dwyer (musician)
John Dwyer is a guitarist/vocalist who has been in a number of bands in both Providence, RI and San Francisco, CA. These bands have ranged from noisy garage rock (
Coachwhips ,The Hospitals ) to experimental folk-pop (The Ohsees (aka OCS)) and "gay" German techno (Zeigenbock Kopf ).His bands
Pink and Brown , Coachwhips, andThe Hospitals made a habit out of setting up anywhere except the stage, resulting in situations where the audience and Dwyer are more connected. Various sources cite Dwyer being seen playing on top of arcade games, washing machines, racks of CDs, and once at a bus stop down the street from the club. ForPink and Brown andCoachwhips , Dwyer got his distinctive vocal sound by singing through a telephone mouthpiece [http://www.posteverything.com/sackbutblues/article.php?id=6156] . His first projects in the late 1990s (OCS,Pink and Brown , Landed, The Netmen) were associated with the notoriousFort Thunder art collective. He also played drums for
The Troggs cover band The Trawggs and Revenge SF (aka Revenge). After Narnack departed ways with John, Dwyer started Castle Face Records in 2007, the first release was "Sucks Blood" by The Ohsees.
