The Naturalization Act of 1870 (16 Stat. 254) was a law passed by the United States Congress concerning immigration and immigrants. It was created to deal with two immigration issues:
- a system of controls for the naturalization process and penalties for fraudulent practices
- naturalization laws for aliens and for persons of African descent[1]
