- Lurline Baths
The Lurline Baths were public salt water baths built in
1894 inSan Francisco, California at the corner of Bush and Larkin streets. They closed in1936 . The Lurline Pier, built at Ocean Beach between Anza and Balboa Streets to protect the intake pipe which provided seawater to the Lurline Baths, existed until about 1966.Owned by the
Olympic Salt Water Company , the baths also included aswimming pool andwater slide . The baths were immortalized byThomas Edison onOctober 25 ,1897 when he captured 30 seconds of film featuring scenes from the Lurline pool.See also
