"Stone Trek" is an internet-based Flash animated cartoon series that presents episodes of "
Star Trek " as it might have appeared in the universe of "The Flintstones ", complete with 1960s style laugh tracks andHanna-Barbera cartoon sound effects.Overview
The series takes place aboard the stoneship "U.S.S. Magnetize", powered by its magma/antimagma engines. Characters include Captain James T. Kirkstone, the Vulcano first officer Mr. Sprock and ship's doctor Leonard "Fossils" RcKoy. The series also features a running count of redshirts killed in each episode, and fans can write in to nominate themselves to be caricatured as a redshirt in future episodes.
"Stone Trek" debuted in 2000 at Icebox.com, but the series soon moved to its own website and at [http://www.starland.com Starland.com] , which sponsored the later episodes.
The series is produced by Brian Matthews and Jim Jenkins, with the voice talent of [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1113950/ Wally Fields] , a professional voice artist who also provided voices for the official "Star Trek" videogame "".
The series has proven popular with fans - "Movie Magic Magazine" called it an "innovative (and often quite funny) take on the original "Star Trek" [http://theforce.net/fanfilms/images/stuff-moviemagic3.jpg] in its September 2004 issue. #Marooned on Tatooine (Part 1) - Stonefleet Command sends the "Magnetize" to rescue a fashion queen, and the bad guys don't like that one little bit.
