Azocines

Azocines

Azocines are 8-membered heterocyclic compounds, with one of the carbon atoms replaced with a nitrogen.

Azocine rings are found in many natural products, including the manzamine family of marine alkaloids. One such compound is Nakadomarin A, which contains an unsaturated azocine within its hexacyclic fused ring system.
