More than convert|1050|acre|km2|0 of parkland surround the lake, including convert|450|acre|km2|1, north ofNebraska Highway 36 , designated as wildlife area.The lake has been drained and is undergoing an ecosystem reconstruction plan which should be completed in 2008.
