Anthony Davis (comedian)

Anthony Davis (born November 16, 1974, London) is a broadcaster and entertainer. He first appeared in BBCsitcoms and drama such as Grange Hill in the 1980s as a child performer, earning him a place in the Radio Times Guide to TV Comedy.

Davis' talents encompass music, magic, impersonation and comedy. As a host, compére and quizmaster, he presented 'Stake Out' on Challenge TV and Ftn. He made headlines as the emotional voice of the '2002 Commonwealth Games' opening and closing ceremonies for a global TV audience of one billion viewers. As a BBC events announcer and commentator he has voiced the Royal Variety Performance (2004 & 2006), 2004 TV Moments, Eurovision: Making Your Mind Up (2005 & 2007), and Comic Relief Night. A multi-talented stand-up comedy writer and performer, he is seen regularly across most major London venues. His voice is familiar to fans of the late night Channel 4 comedy series Modern Toss.

He is a skilled DJ and his live daily radio show 'Anthony Davis For Breakfast' was heard every morning on Capital Life (DAB) in the United Kingdom until September 2006. He first appeared on London speech station LBC 97.3 in May 2006 and since June 2007 has hosted the Saturday to Monday morning programme from 1am to 5am with a 15.4% audience market share.Fact|date=April 2008 He is the regular stand-in for presenters Clive Bull, Steve Allen and Nick Abbot. Until March 2008 he demonstrated daily his passion for jazz music on national DAB station theJazz. In 2007/2008 he was heard announcing The Alan Titchmarsh Show on ITV1, and is currently the voice of the animated fireman in the Gaviscon TV commercials and Twix 'Happy Together' adverts.

From October 2008 Anthony will be part of the line-up on the relaunched Jazz FM Mon-Fri 10am-2pm and Sun at 1pm with a "very individual take on the Jazz music scene."
