The video, directed by Dean Karr, features singer Adam Gontier as the main character. Gontier is seen looking into mirrors, and other reflective objects, seeing himself as a monster. Gontier has stated that while addicted to the painkiller OxyContin, he had become abusive and angry and had no idea who he was anymore. He wrote "Animal I Have Become" while in rehab for his addiction. [ [http://jam.canoe.ca/Music/Lowdown/2007/03/30/3871210-ca.html CANOE - JAM! Music Video

The music video for "Animal I Have Become" features a man (Gontier) walking through various places, including a street where he pushes through everyone in front of him, as well as seeing his reflection as a monstrous entity with deathly eyes and a gaping hole with menacing teeth for a mouth twice. It ends with him meeting a woman in a bar, only to find her looking just like the monstrous entity. He then proceeds to overturn a table and throw a chair at a mirror. The man finds out it was all a dream. During the video, clips of the band playing are featured.
