Buchanan Bus Station is the main
bus terminus inGlasgow for journeys between the city and other towns inUnited Kingdom and international journeys. It was originally built in 1977, close to the former site of Buchanan Street railway station which was closed in the 1960s by theBeeching Axe . The construction of the station realigned the intersection betweenParliamentary Road andSauchiehall Street , the former being renamed as Killermont Street, which runs along the southern edge of the station.It is operated by the
Strathclyde Partnership for Transport , who inherited it from their predecessor agency,Strathclyde Passenger Transport , who in turn acquired it fromScottish Citylink in 1993.
