Gabriel began his acting career at the age of four, performing in plays called the Golliards while his family holidayed in
Devon . At the age of five, Gabriel gave his first TV performance in an advert forFrosties which he later said he'd "rather forget". In 1995, Gabriel appeared in a TV version of "The Bible: Joseph". He followed this up with a small role in another TV show calledPainted Lady .
