Gwendolyn A. Faison is the 82-year-old mayor of Camden, New Jersey, United States. She was first appointed when Milton Milan was convicted of corruption and forced to leave office in 2000. She had served as City Council President since 1997. She won re-election in 2001 and 2005. Under the State of New Jersey's recovery act for Camden, the Mayor has limited formal responsibilities. Once the act expires in 2007, the office will resume its powers.

Faison was born and raised in Clinton, North Carolina, but lived in Camden for most of her life. She attended Shaw University, Temple University and Rutgers. She was previously a member of the Camden County Board of Chosen Freeholders, Camden County Board on Aging, and Legislative Committee of the New Jersey Democratic Women. She is a member of the Mayors Against Illegal Guns Coalition [cite web| url=http://www.mayorsagainstillegalguns.org/html/about/members.shtml| title=Mayors Against Illegal Guns: Coalition Members] , a bi-partisan group with a stated goal of "making the public safer by getting illegal guns off the streets." The Coalition is co-chaired by Boston Mayor Thomas Menino and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

In November 2006, a drive to recall Faison began, with activists arguing that the mayor has ignored the city's Latino neighborhoods and has allowed racial discrimination in the city's fire department.
