Gavigangadhareshwara Temple

Gavigangadhareshwara Temple is a famous temple dedicated to Shiva located in Gavipuram, Bangalore, India.

The temple is located in a place called Gavipuram near Guttahalli , it is very famous for Shivarathri celebrations , moreover this is one of the largest Cave Temple in Bangalore , during Sankranti festival's evening , sunRays during sunset penetrate deep into the caves and lighten the IDOL called Linga (in the regional language) , thousands of devotees visit during this specatacular moment and it happens only once in a year .

There are entrances from the cave to go to kashi, mysore and srirangapatnam kingdom, which were used in olden days. Now the entrances are closed as the ways are dangerous. There is a saying by locals that anyone dares to get in should risk their lifes.
