Sutphin Boulevard is a local station on the IND Queens Boulevard Line of the New York City Subway. Full time fare control is at Sutphin Boulevard and contains three street stairs. The part time fare control at 144th Street contains two street stairs and used to have a booth, but was removed in 2003. There are stairs to each platform. The 179th Street-bound platform has an exit-only staircase to Sutphin Boulevard.

In the movie "Coming to America", Eddie Murphy's character, Akeem, tries to persuade his love interest to marry him and go to Zamunda, a fictional kingdom in Africa. He follows her onto a New York subway train. When the train stops, she tells him no, and leaves the train. He stays on, dejected. As the train leaves the station into the tunnels, the camera shot captures "Sutphin" on the wall tiles.
