The Food City 250 is a NASCAR Nationwide Series race that takes place each August under the lights at Bristol Motor Speedway. It is held the night before the Sprint Cup Series Sharpie 500. The race has increased in length several times since it was first run, first to 200 laps in 1985, and to the current 250 laps in 1990.
