The National School

The National School

The National School is a Church of England secondary school located on "Annesley Road" in Hucknall, in the Ashfield district of Nottinghamshire. It is in the north of the town, close to the A611 bypass.

History

The school has had major changes recently, with a new science block being built and a new AstroTurf surface laid down on the field, both opened by HRH Princess Anne in 2005. There used to be a National Secondary Modern School on "Montague Road" in the town, which became a junior school, which then became a primary school in 2006.

Academic performance

It is one of the best schools in Nottinghamshire. It gets very good GCSE results, and in 2007 it got the third best A level results in the county, behind two schools in West Bridgford.
