Albert Blake Dick (born
April 16 ,1856 - diedAugust 15 ,1934 ) was a businessman and founder of theA.B. Dick Company (1884). It was originally alumber company, but became a manufacturer of copy machines andoffice supplies after Dick licensed autographic printing patents fromThomas Edison and coined the word "mimeograph " in 1884. His son Sheldon relied on the Dick fortune in support of his efforts in publishing, photography, and film. InCanada there is amuseum piece AB Dick press from the 1920s in their Canadian Head Office.References
