(2005)Crack in the Wall is an EP by The Panics, released on April 5, 2004 by littleBIGMAN Records. The EP was recorded in the summer of 2003/2004 at Kingdom Studio (an old converted Masonic hall in Perth). The rear cover of the EP and inside photographs are of the band recording the EP, taken in the recording room of the studio, where the record was made.
"Cash" is the first single from the record and was written around the time of Johnny Cash's death, the title stuck from that period. "In Your Head" features Laffer's uncle, Richard Szewczyk, on the piano accordion during the middle of the song, with Freya Mengler lending backing vocals. This is only the second time that people outside the band have played on a Panics' song. At the end of "Close" you can hear the ambient sounds of outdoors and the kitchen area, where the band were waiting impatiently to add their parts to the track.
