Shanmugham Venkatesh is an Indian football player from Bangalore who represented India over a number of international matches.He has been playing international matches representing India since the year 1997 in various age group (Under-19,Under -23 and Senior Team). He is the one of the best midfield player in India. Venkatesh first started playing with his brother Dakshina Murhty for ADE ( Aeronautical Development Establishment). Initially he learned many aspects from his brother. When Venkatesh played for ITI ( Indian Telephone Industries) then veteran coach Krishnaji Rao who found and coached him. Venkatesh named as the "Player of the year"(2004-05) by the All India Football Federation. He is the first Bangalore player to get this award. Venkatesh is running an academy called " "Venkatesh Youth FootBall Academy" in Bangalore, at present giving training for 50 youth under the age group of Under-12 and Under-14 coached by his brother Dakshina Murhty. Currently he is playing for the Pune FC,PUNE.
