The road gets its name from Fort Eustis, which is located on the James River.The route begins at the gate of Fort Eustis, and immediately crosses under U.S. Route 60. After crossing the
Lee Hall Reservoir , it junctions Interstate 64 at exit 250, then immediately intersects with State Route 143 (Jefferson Avenue). The road continues on for 3 miles before it intersects with US 17.Route 105 runs alongside
Newport News Park , with three entrances to the park near the road. The main entrance is near the intersection of Fort Eustis Boulevard and Jefferson Avenue. Another entrance is located about a tenth of a mile east of Jefferson Avenue. The third entrance is the Deer Run Golf Course, at the intersection with Woodside Lane.References
