KFNK (104.9 FM) is an active rock radio station licensed to Eatonville, Washington and serving the southern Puget Sound region centered around Tacoma. The station's nickname is "The Funky Monkey" (sometimes referred to as "The Monkey 104.9").

KFNK is owned and operated by Clear Channel Communications, which also owns and operates five other radio stations in the Puget Sound region: KHHO (Sports), KJR-FM (Classic Hits), KJR (AM) (Sports), KNBQ (Country), and KUBE (Urban).

The station is somewhat anomalous in that it rarely has disc jockeys hosting segments of airtime, and relies heavily on broadcast automation. There is one full-time disk jockey, and 3 part-time air personalities do one show a week each. Most songs end with a voiceover identifying the song title and artist, also called a "backsell."

Programming

*Justin's Unnamed Radio Show: weekday afternoon show 3pm to 7pm. Justin was a listener who won the "Who will be the next Raizin?" contest to take over the afternoon DJ slot.
*The Andy Guyer Show: Hosts the late night show, Wednesdays and Thursdays 7pm to 10pm
*Garage Monkey: Local music, including, as the name suggests, garage bands from the Puget Sound area. Hosted by Damon Stewart Tuesdays 8pm to 10pm
*Abbey: Music Director for the station, and on-air Saturday noon to 4pm
* Ice hockey play-by-play: In September 2008, KFNK signed a contract to broadcast play-by-play for the Western Hockey League Seattle Thunderbirds. [http://www.themonkey1049.com/pages/thunderbirds.html?feed=297150&article=4221288] The agreement was in conjunction with the Thunderbirds' relocation from Seattle's KeyArena to the Kent Events Center, which is closer to the station's South Sound broadcasting area.
