It is bounded by Molo to the south and west, City Proper to the south and east, and La Paz to the north.[1]
The district is one of three major commercial areas in Iloilo City, the others being Molo and Jaro. Alongside the Iloilo City Diversion Road, also known as Ninoy Aquino Avenue, which passes through Mandurriao, one can see many commercial buildings, as well as billboards along the sides of the road. The largest mall in Iloilo City, SM City Iloilo, is located along the Diversion Road. Also on the Diversion Road are many stores and other businesses. The Smallville Business Park along with Boardwalk is the newest bustling commercial and leisure park in the district filled with upscale restaurants, bars and hotels promising an emergence of a modern nightlife in Iloilo City.
Iloilo City's old domestic airport, Mandurriao Airport, is located in the district, and as such takes its name from it. With the opening of Iloilo International Airport outside of the city, the old airport is set to be converted into a new business development spearheaded by the Megaworld Corporation.[2]
