Kevin Spencer (musician)

Kevin Spencer is a Canadian singer-songwriter born December 22, 1978.

He began his career in music as a member of the Hamilton, Ontario pop band The Misunderstood as 1996 CFNY New Music Search Finalists. In 1997, after that band broke up, Spencer moved to Vancouver, British Columbia as a hired musician for Rymes With Orange penning the Canadian hit "Standing in the rain" and became a founding member of the band Mudgirl (aka Kim Bingham), who had a Canadian radio hit that year with "This Day", which garnered them a spot on Lilith Fair.

Between the years 1999 and 2001, he continued his performing, recording and touring education with The Kim Band, Rymes with Orange, Mezzanine, and countless others contributing guitar, bass, drums, programming and voice. 2001 also saw the release of The Kim Band's debut album, "Girlology" and Rymes with Orange's fourth record "Crash".

In September 2001, Spencer was recruited by Bernard Telsey Casting in New York to play the role of Roger Davis in the National Tour of the rock opera "Rent". Completing over 500 shows, his contract ended in late 2004. This saw his return to the pen and paper as a writer.

He is currently working on his debut album as a solo artist with producer/mixers Jeff Dawson (Daniel Powter) and Thom Russo (Audioslave, Johnny Cash, Jay Z, Maná).
