Nurul Islam (soldier)

Group Captain (Retd.) Nurul Islam (1936 - ) was the Base Commander of the Chittagong Air Force, Bangladesh, during the late 1970s and early 1980s. During the military coup of 1981, when President Ziaur Rahman was assassinated, Group Captain Nurul Islam resented the influence of Major General Monjur, head of Chittagong Division Army, to join his side. Group Captain Nurul Islam was one of the men who carried the dead body of President Ziaur Rahman and buried it at Chandrima Uddan, Sher-E-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka.
