Randall Jerome Messenger (born August 13, 1981 in Reno, Nevada) is a Major League Baseball right-handed relief pitcher for the Seattle Mariners. He is ft in to m|6|6|precision=2 tall and weighs lb to kg|240|abbr=mos, and made his Major League debut on June 22, mlby|2005, for the Florida Marlins.

He graduated from Sparks High School in 1999. He was drafted in the 1999 MLB Draft in the 11th round (326th overall) by the Florida Marlins.cite web| url=http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/M/Randy-Messenger.shtml | title=Randy Messenger Statistics| work=The Baseball Cube| accessdate=2007-09-14] On May 31, mlby|2007, Messenger was traded to the San Francisco Giants for Armando Benítez.

On March 5, by|2008, he was optioned down to Triple-A Fresno. After being released by the Giants, Messenger signed a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners on July 11, 2008, and was assigned to the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers. He was called up on August 25.

Messenger is known for giving teammate Scott Olsen a black eye while he was with the Marlins, which ironically spurred Olsen to a 4-0 record over four decisions. Messenger is also well-known amongst his peers as wearing a straight bill on his cap.
