Byrne Creek Secondary is a public high school in Burnaby, British Columbia part of School District 41 Burnaby.

History

Byrne Creek official opened in September of 2005, being the youngest secondary school in the Burnaby School District. It was built to accommodate for the rising population in the city of Burnaby. Most students who attended schools close to Byrne Creek's vicinity transferred out of their schools to attend the closer institution.

The area of Byrne Creek, for which the school is named, can be traced to Peter Byrne - who served as reeve (mayor) from 1906 to 1910 [ [http://byrnecreek.sd41.bc.ca/admin/schoolinfo/info.pdf Byrne Creek Secondary School] "Burnaby School District 41"] .

Starting from September 2006, Byrne Creek academic program included courses that were part of the Advanced Placement (AP) program.
