Molly Ringworm is a
punk rock band fromKansas City, Missouri . Their name is an obvious pun on the name ofMolly Ringwald , a popular teenage actress in the 1980s. Consisting of radicalartist Mike Deviant (born 1971), the band has been active since late 1987. They are noteworthy because they are generally considered the first thrash band in Kansas City. They have always existed of the establishment music press primarily due to their extreme political views.Despite the post-9-11 political landscape, Molly Ringworm have varied little in their left-wing political views. Generally they are considered a counterpoint to the stereotypical image of
rural right-wing groups, which seem to have a much greater influence in theKansas City Metropolitan Area .External links
