Ate my balls

Ate my balls

Ate my balls was an early example of an Internet meme.In the late 1990s, many web pages were created to depict a particular celebrity or fictional character saying how they liked to eat "balls" (slang for testicles). Often, the site would consist of a story or comic featuring edited photos about the titular individual eating testicles. The photo editing was often intentionally crude to emphasize the parody. Usually the editing would go no further than the person having a scrotum in his mouth. The "Mr T Ate My Balls" web page was the original "Ate my balls" site. It was started in 1996 by a college student named Nehal Patel and became a popular Internet fad. It has now all but fallen out of popular Internet culture. Most of the "Ate my balls" pages have been taken down, and it seems that the majority of this quirky form of pop art has been lost, at least from the public sphere.

A number of users on services such as Twitter and Facebook have paid homage to the "Ate my balls" meme using the phrase "Sarah Palin Ate my balls" or other ball eating related phrases in conjunction with Sarah Palin.
