The C. Herman and Mary Virginia Terry College of Business, more commonly referred to as the Terry College of Business or Terry College, is a college within the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. Terry College has three key areas of academic focus: Leadership, Enterprise Risk Management and Strategies for Emerging Technologies.

The Terry College of Business is consistently ranked as one of the top 20 public business schools by several college guides.

The M.B.A. program at the Terry College of Business is often recognized as one of the top graduate business programs in the United States. With facilities on-campus in Athens, in Gwinnett County and in the Buckhead section of Atlanta, Georgia, the program offers a full-time M.B.A. program, part-time M.B.A. program, and e. M.B.A. program. The full-time program offers both a traditional two year class schedule and an 11-month class schedule for accelerated learning.

History

Terry College was originally created as the School of Commerce in 1912.

In October 1991, the College of Business Administration was renamed the C. Herman and Mary Virginia Terry College of Business to honor the Terrys' contributions to the university. Full-Time MBA

The Terry Full-Time MBA program is currently only offered at the Athens Campus. Full-Time MBA Options include the 11-Month Accelerated Program and the 2-Year Traditional Program.
* The 11-Month Accelerated program is designed specifically for students with a Bachelor's Degree in Business or Economics from an AACSB Accredited College/University. Terry's 11-Month Accelerated MBA program is three semesters long and begins each year at the end of May. Following an intensive review of their undergraduate business coursework over the summer, 11-month students join returning second year students in the fall for two semesters of elective classes.
* The 2-Year program is offered to any student regardless of previous Bachelor's Degree Majors. Terry's 2-Year MBA program is four semesters long, Fall and Spring semesters only. Students take core curriculum classes in their first year of the MBA program, including Leadership, Ethics, Accounting, Economics, Business Law, MIS, Finance, etc. Students are also allowed to take one elective course in the second semester of their first year. The second year is focused entirely upon elective courses to round out the business experience and fundamental business curriculum. MBA students are encouraged to complete an Internship in their Summer semester between their first and second year.

Admissions for the Incoming Class for 2008 are as follows:
* GPA - 3.41/4.0 avg
* GMAT - 667 avg
* TOEFL (International Only) - 109 avg
* WORK EXPERIENCE - 4.8 years avg (Terry requires at least 2 years of work experience prior to applying to the Full-Time MBA program)

The MBA Career Management Center provides students with the tools they need to be successful as they launch their post-MBA careers. Terry takes a unique one-on-one approach to an MBA student's internship search and job search: We apply the same model we use to develop leadership skills to teach the career management skills that every business professional will need for lifelong career success. The MBA Career Management Center offers assistance with internships, job placement, career coaching and networking events.
