- HMS Hostile (H55)
HMS "Hostile" (H55) was an H-class
destroyer of theRoyal Navy laid down by Scott's Shipbuilding and Engineering atGreenock inScotland on 27 February 1935, launched on 24 January 1936 and commissioned on 10 September 1936. "Hostile" participated in theFirst Battle of Narvik in April 1940 and theBattle of Calabria in July 1940. HMS "Hostile" was damaged by a mine offCape Bon in theStrait of Sicily while on passage fromMalta toGibraltar on 23 August 1940. She was then scuttled by HMS "Hero".External links
