- Fairfield, Waikato
Fairfield is a suburb to the northeast of central Hamilton. It is bordered by the
Waikato River to the west, Chartwell to the north, Fairview Downs to the east andClaudelands to the South.This area experienced rapid growth in the 1950s and 60s. The eastern part of Fairfield has a reputation as a rough place to live, but is improving. A proximity to central Hamilton, supermarkets, schools and medical centres makes it a desirable place to live.
Fairfield Bridge
Fairfield is home to Fairfield Bridge, named for the suburb to which it links to eastern Hamilton and is its most well known landmark. Pictures of Fairfield Bridge are often seen with the cruise boat 'Waipa Delta' passing underneath.
