Matthew Klam (born 1964) is an American short-story writer and essayist. The New Yorker named him one of the 25 best fiction writers under 40, and he has won a Guggenheim fellowship[1], a Robert Bingham/PEN Award[2], a National Endowment of the Arts[3], a Whiting Writer's Award[4] and an O. Henry Award[5]. His work appears in a variety of magazines, including The New Yorker, Esquire[citation needed], GQ[citation needed], Harper's[citation needed], Nerve[citation needed], and The New York Times Magazine.
Klam graduated from Hollins College[citation needed] and the University of New Hampshire[citation needed]. He teaches at Johns Hopkins University.
