- Ron Jones (composer)
Ron Jones (born
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania 3 June 1956 ) is an American composer who has written music for TV shows, including "," "Duck Tales ", "American Dad! ", "Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers " and "Family Guy ". He was fictionalized into the "Family Guy" episode "Brian Does Hollywood " as a composer of music for pornographic films, nominated for a Woody award. He's also one of the two composers of the theme song for Nickelodeon's "The Fairly OddParents ". (The other composer is show creatorButch Hartman .)Despite critically acclaimed work for Star Trek: The Next Generation, Jones was fired during the show's fourth season by producer
Rick Berman after repeated disagreements over how to approach dramatic scoring on the show. Following that, Jones criticized the kind of music used under Berman's stewardship of the franchise, which he felt was "less melodic" and "more pad-like."
