Kane joined Blackburn Rovers as a youth in November 2004 and was subsequently a member of the squad that won the
Premier Academy League in 2004-05. He then became a regular member of the Roversreserve team before signing a two year contract in 2006. Darron Gibson , is one of several Northern Irish footballers, involved in an on going dispute between the(Northern) Irish Football Association and theFootball Association of (the Republic of) Ireland over international eligibility.
