Yvonne Jeffries is a fictional character on the New Zealand soap opera "Shortland Street".

She is the receptionist at the Shortland Street medical centre. Yvonne and her husband Ian moved from their quiet country orchard to the bustling environs of Ferndale when Ian was diagnosed with the debilitating Motor Neurone Disease. He then had news that this was a misdiagnosis and he actually had Kennedy's Disease.

Yvonne's life took an unexpected turn for the better last year when the son she adopted out at birth, Hamish Flynn, made contact with her. Hamish had briefly worked at the hospital for Huia Samuels. It turned out that her long-lost "son" was really a con-man who had stolen Hamish's identity and set out to scam her and Ian for their last penny. Yvonne did eventually meet her real birth son but he didn't want further contact but was allowed a photo of him.

Yvonne has been more affected by the killings than other characters as she has lost three people close to her. Fellow receptionist Claire Solomon and Nurse Brenda Holloway were two of Yvonne's closest friends while Jay Copeland was her daughter in law.

Until recently, Yvonne had a fear of worms, but she has now conquered it.

She is portrayed by Alison Quigan.
