Mortalla is a fictional extraterrestrial goddess published by DC Comics. She first appeared in Orion #6 (November 2000), and was created by Walt Simonson.

Character history

Darkseid's servant and Orion's lover. She was identified as Darkseid's wife when Superman travelled to Apokolips to reclaim the life of John Henry Irons, the man known as Steel. Mortalla ordered Apokolips troops to release Doomsday in an attempt to help Darkseid. She is a member of the Darkseid's Elite.

She is portrayed as a good looking woman with blue skin that slightly resembles the Mesopotamian goddess Ishtar.

In Death of the New Gods #3, Mortalla is one of the many victims of the Infinity-Man, who is killing the New Gods as an agent for the Source.

Powers and abilities

  • She can bestow sleep on an individual with one hand, while the other hand can kill.
