Sivakaasi (Vijay) is man with a good heart, who dotes on his mother (Geetha) and sister (Lakshana). The film's theme focuses on the sacrifices he is called upon to make to keep his mother and sister happy. He leaves his home at the age of eight due to a falling-out with his father about his elder brother. After many years, he returns to his hometown. Upon his return, he finds out about the sinister doings of this brother Udhayappa (Prakash Raj) with regard to his mother and his sister. He decides to stay and help his mother and sister regain their lives.
