Band

The Freedom High School Band has more than doubled in size since the schools' opening. They have earned a Superior in marching in 2004 Aerosmith, 2005 Phantom of the Opera, and 2007 Fusion, as well as many concert Superiors.The Freedom High School Jazz Band performs locally for many occasions and went to San Antonio, Texas(2008) and made a superior rating. Many of its members consistently make All-County, All-State,and a few each year to Master Musician. Many of the members also participate in Solo Ensemble where many receive Superior ratings as well. The marching show of 2008 will be Helios featuring the songs Soak Up the Sun, Walkin on Sunshine and Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In.

Drama

The Freedom Theatre Department has become one of Freedom's most popular activities, bringing in new faces and talents with every show. The department is most known for the musicals they produce once a year, but they always make their shows worth while. Ranging from the audiences favorite, "Competition Piece", to the '80s crazed "Footloose", each show has its own personality that are sure to impress. Freedom Drama is also considered a very serious competition to its members when facing judges and versing other schools in Thespian District 9 also with great talent and reputations. Every performance is sure to be worth the cost, so come see Freedom Theatre do what they do best!

chool Ranking

The school achieved an "A" rating for the 2007/2008 school year. Ratings are based on FCAT scores.

Leadership

In June, 2008, principal Richard Bartels retired. Bartels was the only principal Freedom had, opening the school in 2002.Starting in the 2008-2009 school year Principal Farkas will be taking over.
