Kirkby-in-Ashfield railway station serves the town of Kirkby-in-Ashfield in Nottinghamshire, England. The station is on the Robin Hood Line operated by East Midlands Trains between Nottingham and Worksop .

ervices

Monday to Saturday daytimes there is generally a half-hourly service from Kirkby-in-Ashfield to southbound to Nottingham. There are two trains per hour northbound, one terminating at Mansfield Woodhouse and the other at Worksop. Evenings hourly in each direction and no service on Sundays

Future

Former operator Central Trains has been replaced by a new company called East Midlands Trains from November 2007 which operates all services in the East Midlands. The franchise is operated by the Stagecoach group who have announced the introduction of an hourly Sunday service from December 2008. A new timetable will come into force from December 8.

Facilities

The station is located ¼ mile from the centre of town in a cutting around 40 feet below street level. Access to the platforms is via two ramps with a small number of steps so is not recommended for use by wheelchair passengers unless the operator of the chair is very fit.

There are no toilet facilities on this station.

Local Transport Connections

There are regular bus service operating outside the station by Trent Barton to the local area but there is no taxi rank
