Guests includedOl' Dirty Bastard ,Twiztid , andSnoop Dogg , as well as some unrealesedPrank call s byThe Jerky Boys ."The Amazing Jeckel Brothers" debuted fourth on the Billboard charts, [cite news |url=http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1430318/19990603/i_c_p.jhtml |title=Insane Clown Posse Makes "Amazing" Top Five Debut |accessdate=2008-05-04 |last= |first= |coauthors= |date=
June 3 ,1999 |work= |publisher=MTV ] just beneath theBackstreet Boys during the pop band craze, two years after the Disney scandal. This is ICP's most successful and perhaps most well-known album. It contains what is possibly two of their most well-known songs, "Another Love Song" (for which a video was filmed and gained heavy MTV rotation) and "Fuck the World" (which they performed live at Woodstock '99). The album was certified platinum by theRIAA .cite web |url=http://www.riaa.com/goldandplatinumdata.php?table=SEARCH |title=Certification for Insane Clown Posse |accessdate=2008-05-05 |publisher=RIAA Gold and Platinum Certification Database]Production
Snoop Dogg was paid $40,000 to perform on a track.Ol' Dirty Bastard was paid $30,000 to appear. He recorded his track in a matter of two days, but it was nothing more than him rambling about "bitches." It took Bruce and Utsler a week to get just four rhymes out of his rambling, and the duo had to re-record the song and name it "Bitches."cite book |last=Bruce |first=Joseph |authorlink=Joseph Bruce |coauthors=Hobey Echlin |editor=Nathan Fostey |title=ICP: Behind the Paint |origdate= |origyear=2003 |origmonth=August |edition=2nd Edition |publisher=Psychopathic Records |location=Royal Oak, Michigan |isbn=09741846083 |pages=page 414-433 |chapter=Big Money Hustlas ] Ice-T was also contacted to appear on a song, and charged the group only $10,000. The group felt the song did not fit on the album, so it was kept off, but later released on "Psychopathics from Outer Space ". The song "Echo Side" was originally released at an Insane Clown Posse concert inGarden City, Michigan as the first ever single fromDark Lotus .cite book |last=Bruce |first=Joseph |authorlink= |coauthors=Hobey Echlin |editor=Nathan Fostey |title=ICP: Behind the Paint |origdate= |origyear=2003 |origmonth=August |edition=2nd Edition |publisher=Psychopathic Records |location=Royal Oak, Michigan |isbn=09741846083 |pages=page 560-561 |chapter=Complete Discography ]Insane Clown Posse were national names, but were looked at as a joke by many. The group had received mainly negative publicity from the press. They decided to use this album as a release for their anger. It is easily seen in songs such as "Fuck the World," where the duo flat-out say what was on their minds.
