Set in January 2377, it follows on from the events of the "Worlds of Deep Space Nine" novels, especially "Olympus Descending".
Plot
Taran'atar has attacked Colonel Kira Nerys and Ro Laren and fled Deep Space 9. Commander Elias Vaughn and the crew of the USS "Defiant" pursue him into Cardassian space.
Meanwhile, in the mirror universe, Intendant Kira plans to take over that galaxy - and more.
