California Distinguished School . Cleveland has a student population of over 4,000, which is divided into various small learning communities. TheHumanities Magnet (Core), the School of Advanced Studies (SAS), the Media Academy and Interdisciplinary Studies are some of the more prominent ones. Students are encouraged to take many advanced (honors and AP) classes. The math department is considered very strong and is known for its "two year program," which propels its students into APCalculus BC by their Junior year. The humanities magnet has a loose connection with theUniversity of California, Berkeley and sends a sizeable portion of its graduating class there. A large percentage of Cleveland students in general go on to pursue a college education.Demographics
