Amiya Taga ( _he. אמייה טגה, born February 1, 1985) is an Israeli footballer of Ethiopian descent, currently plying his trade at Maccabi Netanya.

Amiya Taga was born in the Beta Israel community in Ethiopia and his family emigrated to Israel in 1991 during the Operation Solomon.

Taga grew up through the ranks at Netanya, he played throughout the youth system and currently turns out for the first team as well as the Israel national under-21 football team. He made his first team debut for them in 2004.

At the year 2007 Amiya Taga changed his name from Amir Taga to his present name, a name that was given to him as a child and was re-named during the years. "Amiya" in the Amharic language means "a child".

Personal life

Avi Taga had been missing from home since Wednesday, August 9.
