Club Career
Patricio Urrutia is a central midfielder for
LDU Quito of the Ecuadorian Serie A. He is the captain of his club and was part of the squad who won the 2008 Copa Libertadores. He is having much success with his club and various teams of the outside are watching him.Urrutia started out at Barcelona of Guayaquil but was then transferred to Calvi Guayaquil. He then went to Técnico Universitario where he played for a whole season, scoring 12 goals. After that, he went to Macará scoring 2 goals.
After Macará, his real success came as he joined LDU Quito. He stayed with LDUQ for five and a half seasons. Urrutia has been a prominent figure for his club,
LDU Quito . He was captain of the team and scored seven goals forLiga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito in theCopa Libertadores 2008 helping them win the tournament. This was the first time ever that a team from Ecuador won the Copa Libertadores. As a central midfielder, he was chosen to be part of Ecuador's team in the World Cup games in
Germany 2006. His appointment to the Ecuadorian squad for the2006 FIFA World Cup raised a few eyebrows, because his last previous international appearance had been against Brazil in2004 . He came as a substitute forAgustin Delgado in the 2006 World Cup games against Poland and Costa Rica, where they won 2-0 and 3-0 respectively, securing a historic qualification to the round of sixteen. This was the best result yet for Ecuador in World Cup Soccer. He was also called up for the2007 Copa América . He scored the only goal of the game in a friendly match against Bolivia from the penalty spot on22 August 2007 . That match was to prepare for the 2010 World Cup qualifiers.Titles
