Dallas, Texas ) is a former Republican member of theNorth Carolina General Assembly representing the state's thirty-ninth Senate district, including constituents in Mecklenburg County. Pittenger's father-in-law was the late state Sen.Cy Bahakel .A real estate investor from
Charlotte, North Carolina , Pittenger served almost three terms in the state Senate. With nearly 60% of the vote, Pittenger won the Republican primary on May 6, 2008 to become his party's nominee forLieutenant Governor of North Carolina in 2008.
