Scouts Australia for the youngest age group inScouting . Boys and girls aged 6 - 8 can join. They join what is called a Mob, made up of no more than 20 children. The Mob is led by at least two adult leaders, usually a Joey Scout Leader and an Assistant Joey Scout Leader. One leader must be female if the Mob includes girls.Leaders are traditionally given the names of Australian native animals such as Brolga, Bilby and Wombat.
