The Institute for Development Studies and Practices (IDSP) is based Quetta, Balochistan, Pakistan. The development of this institute was a result of more than twenty-five years of community development. The concept of the institute was formulated by Dr. Qurat-ul-Ain Bakhtiari in 1996. Bakhtiari is the director of Institute, with more than twenty-five years work in community development.
The institute provides:
* courses in community development (for which certificates and degrees are offered)
* synthesis and application of research
* initialization of process projects
* initialization of public debate and dialogue
* transformatory advisory services
