Hot B

Hot B

Hot B was a video game company that primiarily made fishing games such as the "Black Bass" series. Legend would indicate the "B" in "Hot B" stood for bass, as most fishing games involve fishing for bass. As a company, they produced games for the Nintendo Entertainment System, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and the Sega Genesis.

Hot B also released several cute Taito games, such as the MSX version of "The Fairyland Story" and Sega Master System version of "Chuuka Taisen" (named "Cloud Master").

The rights to Hot B Japan's developed titles appear to have been obtained by Starfish-SD, which has released new games in HOT-B's fishing series, as well as a Game Boy Advance port of "Steel Empire". HOT-B USA has outlasted its Japanese parent, although it currently exists only as a publisher of other companies' games, its latest release being Graffiti Kingdom in 2005.
