Epilepsy Currents

"Epilepsy Currents" (Print ISSN 1535-7597; Online ISSN 1535-7511), the official journal of the [http://www.aesnet.org/ American Epilepsy Society] (AES), was founded in 2001. The journal publishes commentaries on research articles of particular interest to epileptologists. Commentaries are authored by a distinguished board of contributing editors. In addition, the journal publishes brief topical reviews authored by experts. The journal appears bimonthly and is mailed to all AES members. Regular members of AES also receive the primary research journal " [http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/servlet/useragent?func=showIssues&code=epi Epilepsia] ", which is published by the International League Against Epilepsy. "Epilepsy Currents" intentionally does not publish original research so as not to compete with "Epilepsia". All articles published in "Epilepsy Currents" are solicited by the editors.

The founding senior editors of the journal are:

*Susan S. Spencer, Yale University School of Medicine;
*Robert L. Macdonald, Vanderbilt University School of Medicine;
*Gregory K. Bergey, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine;
*Michael A. Rogawski, University of California, Davis School of Medicine and National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke

In December 2008, Gregory K. Bergey and Michael A. Rogawski will assume the roles of co-chief editors. Jacqueline A. French (New York University School of Medicine) and Carl E. Stafstrom (University of Wisconsin School of Medicine) will become co-associate editors.

The journal is published with the assistance of Blackwell Publishing and is available online at [http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/loi/EPC Blackwell Synergy] . The journal content is also freely available, in both HTML and PDF form, on PubMed Central, the free digital archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature of the U.S. National Institutes of Health. PDF files of articles can be downloaded from the [http://www.aesnet.org/go/publications/epilepsy-currents table of contents page] on the AES web site.
