"Weekly Volcano" is a weekly entertainment newspaper in the South Puget Sound, based in Tacoma, Washington. The "Weekly Volcano" reports on film, theater, food, art and music in the South Sound as well as providing comprehensive arts and music calendars. It also publishes a blog, "Spew".The newspaper has 650 distribution points from Federal Way to Tumwater, reaching more than 80,000 readers every Thursday. Founded by editor/art director Ron Swarner, its first issue came out on November 1, 2001. As of September 2005, the paper's editor is Ken Swarner with Ron Swarner taking the creative director position. The paper's staff includes music columnist Matt Driscoll, art critic Alec Clayton, theater critic Steve Dunkelberger, food critic Jason de Paul, music critics Jennifer Johnson [http://www.diamondrock.biz] and Angela Jossy [http://www.angelajossy.com] , and city scene columnists Ginger Knoxx and Natasha.
