Theta Carinae (θ Car / θ Carinae) is a star in the constellation Carina. It is the brightest star in the open star cluster IC 2602, and it marks the northeastern end of the Diamond Cross asterism. This star also has the virtually obscure proper name Vathorz Posterior, a name of Old Norse-Latin origin meaning "Succeeding One of the Waterline" (probably the waterline alongside the Ship Argo).

θ Carinae is a blue-white B-type main sequence dwarf with an apparent magnitude of +2.74. It is approximately 439 light years from Earth.
